Renowned Pakistani actor and host Ahsan Khan opened up about his experience hosting Ramazan transmissions, emphasising the significant role it plays in his spiritual growth and learning about his religion.
In a recent conversation with Hafiz Ahmed, Ahsan expressed his belief that hosting Ramazan transmissions provides him with the right to question the content he presents to audiences during this sacred month. He highlighted how he saw this practice as an opportunity not only to connect with his religion but also to engage in continuous learning.
“I’m learning myself,” shared Ahsan, reflecting on the past nine years of hosting shows alongside renowned Islamic scholars. He highlighted that these interactions allow him to seek knowledge and make notable improvements in his life. “There have been great improvements in my life due to my sitting with them,” he added.
The actor furthered, “We have a script to ask questions. That’s all I do – ask questions. And, as a student, as a Muslim, it is my right to ask questions.” Ahsan pointed out that the act of questioning is a valuable tool for personal and collective growth. “Who will snatch this right away from me, that I have scholars in front of me and I don’t ask them questions? And those questions benefit me and my audience,” he added.
Reflecting on the significance of his role during Ramazan, Ahsan shared, “It’s such a huge deal for me that I am on stage for six hours in Ramadan, live. I take God’s name numerous times, the Prophet [PBUH]’s name is uttered by my tongue, I recite the Durood, Ayats, I educate people.” He emphasised that hosting Ramazan transmissions is not merely his work but a decision that is part of God’s plan.
Ahsan acknowledged the spiritual weight of the experience, stating, “God has written this in my fate. We believe that even a leaf doesn’t move without God’s permission. This is not my work; this is God’s decision.” He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be live during Ramazan, listening to the Quran, hearing the Azaan, and participating in spiritual activities that contribute to the collective experience of the holy month. He stated, “It’s written in my destiny that every Ramazan, I am live listening to the Quran, the Azaan is called in front of me, a person like me will sing Naats…It’s all one’s own fate and destiny.”
As Ahsan continues to play a pivotal role in Ramazan transmissions, his dedication to learning, questioning, and sharing spiritual knowledge reflects a profound commitment to both his personal growth and the spiritual well-being of his audience.
