Iran’s presidential chief of staff said about the helicopter crash that the weather conditions in Iran’s Varzqan region, where President Raisi’s helicopter crashed, initially and during most of the flights that took place the day before. It was all right.
Ghulam Hussain Ismaili told state TV in an interview on Monday that he was aboard one of the helicopters returning from the inauguration of a dam on Iran’s border with Azerbaijan.
He further said that the helicopters had taken off around 1 pm and the weather conditions in the area were normal.

According to Ghulam Hussain Ismaili, 45 minutes into the flight, the pilot of President Raisi’s helicopter, who was in charge of the convoy, ordered the other helicopters to increase their altitude to avoid the nearby cloud.
He revealed that just 30 seconds later, the helicopter of President Ibrahim Raisi, which was flying between two other helicopters, suddenly disappeared. Our pilot noticed that the President’s helicopter was not in the air.
According to Ghulam Hussain Ismaili, our helicopter pilot decided to circle and come back to search for the President’s helicopter but could not lower the height of the helicopter due to clouds and fog.
He further said that several attempts were made to contact the president’s helicopter through radio devices but failed, after which his helicopter continued its flight and landed at a nearby copper mine.
According to Ghulam Hussain Ismaili, he said that Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahiyan and the head of the President’s Protection Unit also did not respond to repeated calls.
However, the pilots of the other 2 helicopters had contacted Captain Mustafavi, who was in charge of the President’s helicopter, but the one who picked up his phone was Tabriz Imam Muhammad Ali Al Hashim, who was not well.
Mohammad Ali Al-Hashim said that the helicopter had crashed in a valley. Later, Ghulam Hussain Ismaili himself contacted Ali Hashim and tried to know about the location from him.
Ghulam Hussain Ismaili said that when we reached the accident site, Ayatollah Ibrahim Raisi and other companions had died on the spot, while Muhammad Ali Al-Hashim was martyred after being alive for several hours.
It should be remembered that Muhammad Ali Al-Hashim was the Imam of Tabriz and the special representative of Supreme Leader Khamenei and was riding in the helicopter with Ibrahim Raisi. He was the eighth person to be martyred in this incident.
