The election was fought not only against the BJP but also against the state machinery and agencies; Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi:  Leader of the Indian opposition party “Congress” Rahul Gandhi has won in both his Lok Sabha constituencies Rae Bareli and Wayanad by a large margin.

According to the Indian media, in the election results obtained from the website of the Election Commission of India, the Congress MP Rahul Gandhi defeated the Communist Party of India’s Aini Raja from the Wayanad region of Kerala state by 364,000 votes.

Rahul Gandhi also defeated BJP’s Dinesh Pratap Singh in Rae Bareli, his family’s traditional seat, by a margin of 389,000 votes. Which is the highest margin of victory in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

It may be recalled that in the 2019 elections, he had to face defeat to Union Minister and senior BJP leader Smriti Irani, even though the Gandhi family had won the seat three times in a row from 2004 to 2019.

In comparison to this, Rahul Gandhi won the Wayanad seat of Kerala in the last election too with 64.4% votes.

It may be recalled that the polling in Rae Bareilly was held on May 20 in which the turnout was 58.12 percent while in Wayanad polling was held on April 26 in which the turnout was 72.69 percent.

According to Rahul Gandhi, he has not yet decided which of the two seats he will give up.

Rahul Gandhi thanked the people of his constituency and said that through this election, Indians have given a clear and unanimous message that they do not want to see the government of Modi and Amit Shah in the country.

Criticizing Modi and Amit Shah, the Congress leader further said that today it is a big message from the voters to Narendra Modi that we do not like the way Modi and Amit Shah have run this country.

Rahul Gandhi further said that the people have given a verdict that the way Modi and Amit Shah attacked the Constitution is condemnable. He further said that we fought the election not only against BJP or the alliance but against the state machinery, agencies and government institutions and achieved encouraging results
