New Delhi: Indian President Draupadi Murmu has invited Narendra Modi, the leader of the National Democratic Alliance, the coalition of political parties that won the majority in the Lok Sabha elections, to form the government. It should be noted that Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party and its allied parties have won 293 seats out of 543 in the Indian Lok Sabha elections, while the BJP got 240 seats.
The NDA’s arch-rival Congress and its allies unexpectedly managed to win 234 seats, out of which Congress candidates won 99 seats.
