On the arrival of Hajj, the cover of the Kaaba was raised 3 meters
Makkah: Before the arrival of Hajj, according to tradition, the cover of the Kaaba was raised 3 meters above the ground.
According to the administration in charge of the affairs of the two holy shrines, hundreds of pilgrims saw the scene of raising the Kaaba in Masjid al-Haram and prayed. On the occasion of raising the cover of the Kaaba, the organizers, Saudi officials and the managers of the Kiswah factory, including experts and trained workers, participated.
The cover of Kaaba is called Kiswah and it consists of 16 pieces in total. Kisoh is 50 feet in length and 35 to 40 feet in width. The purpose of raising the cover of the Kaaba is to protect it from any damage during Hajj. The cover of the Kaaba will remain 3 meters above the ground until 15 Dhu al-Hajj.
Pilgrims used to touch the cover of the Kaaba and take pieces of it with them as blessings, thereby damaging the cover
