Kevin Hart is known for his high-energy humour and diminutive stature, and both were on full display during a recent ’60 Minutes’ interview with Anderson Cooper.
The 44-year-old comedian finally set the record straight on his height: “GQ finally got it right,” he said. “I’m 5-foot-5, with sneakers on.”
Hart has embraced his height as a source of comedy throughout his career. Cooper even playfully referenced a joke from Hart’s standup about his wife’s supposed fondness for “tall people porn.” Hart’s willingness to laugh at himself reflects his confidence and understanding of relatable humour.
The conversation took a more serious turn when Cooper inquired about Hart’s financial success and rumours of billionaire status. “None of your business,” Hart quipped, deflecting the question with a chuckle. He did, however, address his focus on creating opportunities for others within the entertainment industry.
Cooper also brought up Hart’s decision to step down as host of the 2019 Oscars after facing backlash over past homophobic comments. Hart reflected on the experience, acknowledging that it ignited a process of understanding and personal growth. “In those moments of despair, great understanding and education can come out of it,” he explained.
