Court disposes of bail plea of Actor Nazish Jahangir in fraud case
A Lahore session court has cancelled the interim bail of actress Nazish Jahangir in a fraud case registered by the Defence C police station.
The court dismissed her bail on grounds of non-pursuance on Friday.
The fraud case against Nazish Jahangir was lodged by fellow actress Azan Aswad Haroon, who alleged that Jahangir had borrowed Rs 2.5 million and a car for two months.
Despite the agreed timeline, neither the money nor the car was returned after two months.
While Jahangir’s bail was cancelled, the court extended the interim bail of her co-accused, Sikandar, until the first week of October.
This case has attracted attention due to the involvement of two prominent figures in the entertainment industry, highlighting legal challenges faced by celebrities.
In 2020, Pakistani model and actress Nazish Jahangir was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) cybercrime wing in Karachi.
The arrest came as part of a case involving charges of blackmail, harassment, and the dissemination of fake videos and posts. Nazish was taken into custody alongside actor and singer Mohsin Abbas Haider, following a complaint by Haider’s former wife, Fatima Sohail.
Fatima Sohail shared the news on social media, revealing that after a long legal battle, both Nazish and Mohsin had been found guilty by the FIA of harassing her online and circulating fake content.
Fatima Sohail had previously accused Mohsin Abbas of domestic abuse and alleged that he had an extra-marital affair with Nazish Jahangir.
Nazish Jahangir, who maintained her innocence throughout the case, faced charges related to cyber harassment under Pakistan’s laws.
