Kohli and Gambhir ‘putting an end to all the masala’

Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and current head coach Gautam Gambhir are set to appear in an exclusive sit-down interview.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the event ahead of the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh in Chennai.

Kohli and Gambhir relationship has been a subject of much discussion in the cricketing community.

Their history of on-field confrontations, particularly during IPL 2023, raised concerns among fans when Gambhir was appointed as head coach.

However, the two seem ready to move past their differences.

The BCCI teased the interview, stating it would provide insights into the evolving dynamic between the two cricketers.

In a 100-second promotional clip, Gambhir reminisced about their match-winning partnership in the 2011 World Cup final, while Kohli expressed a desire to end speculation surrounding their past.

The teaser features Kohli stating, “So here we are. We’ve come a long way and putting an end to all the masala,” to which Gambhir responds,

“That’s a good start to the conversation.” The brief exchange sets a positive tone for their upcoming dialogue.

Fans are eager to see how the former rivals interact, especially given their previous conflicts, including the infamous sledging incident in IPL 2013.

The BCCI’s announcement has already generated considerable excitement on social media, with the teaser video garnering over 15,000 views shortly after its release.

In previous statements, Gambhir emphasised that their relationship is “between two mature individuals” and should not be for public consumption. As both players aim to unite as teammates, the cricketing world is keen to witness the dialogue that unfolds in this unprecedented interview.

In an intriguing development, Indian cricket star Virat Kohli took to social media on the morning of September 18 to share a one-word post that simply read “kindness.”

Kohli’s intriguing communication did not stop there. He followed up with another tweet featuring the single word “Chivalry,”and “Respect,”, further fueling speculation about its significance in the context of his recent interview with former teammate Gautam Gambhir.
