Karachi to experience increased heat; Monsoon rains expected from mid-July

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted an increase in temperatures for Karachi starting today (Monday), following several days of cloudy weather.

According to the PMD, the city’s “heat intensity” is expected to rise, with hot and humid conditions prevailing for the next 24 hours after the sea winds have ceased, and winds from the northwest are blowing at 18 kilometres per hour.

The minimum temperature recorded was 30.4°C, while the maximum is projected to reach between 35°C and 37°C, with humidity levels at 73%.

The PMD also mentioned a possibility of drizzle or light rain in the evening or during the night, providing some relief from the heat.

Despite the anticipated rise in temperatures, the PMD ruled out another heatwave for Karachi. Earlier, It also predicted a new monsoon spell affecting Sindh, including Karachi, starting from July 18 or 19.
