According to the documents obtained by Daily Express and Express Tribune, there has been a record increase in online banking fraud in the last 5 years. According to the records, the incidents of financial and electronic fraud have been reported the most in the last 5 years in Punjab Cybercrime. The rate has been revealed as 12 to 16 incidents on a daily basis.
According to the record, online fraud has been reported more from 2019 to 2023, in which electronic fraud is at the top. In total, about 29 thousand incidents have been reported in these five years, says former DG FIA Syed Tahsin Anwar Ali Shah.
