Daniyal Aziz, the disgruntled PML-N leader, who is contesting election as an independent candidate was apprehended by local authorities near Sanyari in Shakargarh.
Reports in local media said cops surrounded vehicle of former minister and took him with them as polling process is underway.
Media correspondents, who tried covering the detention, also faced police hamhandeness, as cops confiscated mobile phones.
On election eve, Daniyal’s rivals said former supporters attacked their polling agent in Rupochak and opened fire on his vehicle.
