Lahore: An application was filed in the Lahore High Court to disqualify Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi from the Senate seat.
The petition was filed by citizen Mishkoor Hussain through the mediation of Nadeem Sarwar Advocate, in which the Federal Government, Ministry of Interior, PCB and Mohsin Naqvi were made parties.
It is the petitioner’s contention that Mohsin Naqvi is not eligible to become a senator while holding the post of Chairman PCB. Mohsin Naqvi was the Chairman of PCB at the time of submitting his nomination papers for the Senate seat. According to Article 63 of the Constitution, Mohsin Naqvi is a senator. cannot remain in office.
In the petition, it was requested that the Lahore High Court should order the removal of Mohsin Naqvi from the post of senator
