233 billion rupees were cut in the development budget of the current financial year, report
Islamabad: The federal government has cut 233 billion rupees in the development budget in the current financial year, including meeting the primary deficit on the terms of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
According to official documents, the development budget for the current fiscal year was Rs 950 billion, but a huge cut of Rs 233 billion was made, including a cut of Rs 184 billion to meet the primary deficit due to IMF conditions.
Similarly, 20 billion rupees were given to non-developmental projects from the development budget, the finance ministry also cut 29 billion rupees, after which PSDP for the current financial year was reduced to 717 billion rupees.
The document states that 379 billion has been spent so far from the development budget of the current financial year, 33 percent of the PSDP is for the projects of the provinces and after the eighteenth amendment, the provinces should do their own projects.
It is further reported that in the last 10 years, PSDP has come to an average of Rs 630 billion annually and the share in GDP has come down from 1.7 percent to 0.9 percent.
