A French member of parliament was suspended for waving the Palestinian flag in parliament

Paris:  A left-wing parliamentarian was suspended for 2 weeks for supporting Palestine and waving a flag in the French Legislative Assembly.

According to the World News Agency, there was a heated debate in the French Parliament on the issue of recognizing the Palestinian state, during which Sebastien Delago, a member of the parliament of the radical leftist party “France Enbody”, stood up in his seat and waved the flag of Palestine. .

Holding the flag, the French member of parliament loudly expressed solidarity with the Palestinians and condemned Israel. The Speaker repeatedly asked to sit but the Member of Assembly continued his speech.

The Speaker of the House, Yael Bran-Pivett, condemned the waving of the Palestinian flag, saying it was unacceptable behavior in parliament, which led to her being suspended for two weeks.

The Speaker halved the parliamentary allowance of a member of the assembly for waving the Palestinian flag as a penalty for a period of 2 months.

It should be remembered that Spain, Ireland and Norway officially recognized the Palestinian state, after which the public opinion of recognizing Palestine has been smoothed in France as well.
