According to foreign media, North Korea tied hundreds of garbage bags to balloons and threw them in the border areas of South Korea. Garbage bags burst and garbage spread far and wide. Garbage bags had words of waste written on them
South Korean authorities have deployed chemical, biological teams and the military to the affected areas, instructing people to stay away from North Korean waste.
South Korea strongly protested this move, saying that this move by North Korea is a violation of international law and endangers the security of citizens. North Korea should stop such inhumane and depraved acts.
North Korea says this move is retaliation for South Korea’s actions. South Korea has often sent food, medicine and pamphlets into North Korea via balloons and drones.
