Edited video of Israeli female soldiers captured by Hamas released
Gaza/Occupied Jerusalem: An edited video of 5 Israeli female soldiers captured during the October 7 attack by Hamas has been released.
According to the Times of Israel, a forum for families of Israelis imprisoned by Hamas released the footage, which the Israeli government allowed to air after being edited.
The video shows 5 female soldiers being taken prisoner during a Hamas attack on an Israeli military base in Nihal Oz on October 7, 2023. These five soldiers were deployed to monitor all movements near the Gaza border.
The families called the failure of Israel to bring the five soldiers back to their homeland as a terrible proof and urged the Netanyahu government to release these prisoners as soon as possible.
The video was allegedly captured by body cameras worn by Hamas mujahideen when they attacked an Israeli military base near the Gaza border, during which Larry Albag, Karina Arief, Agam Berger, Daniela Gilboa and Nama Levy was captured. This video is from 229 days ago and all five soldiers are still in the custody of Hamas in Gaza.
In Israel, its own citizens are protesting against the government. They blame Prime Minister Netanyahu for the failure of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the release of Israeli hostages. Large-scale protests against the government are ongoing across the country, including the capital Tel Aviv, demanding the government’s dismissal.
The families of the five soldiers demanded that the footage be aired on TV channels, saying it was meant to rattle their government, so that more efforts could be made to release the soldiers.
Larry Albaugh’s father, Eli, said after the footage aired on the channel, “I want you to broadcast this footage at the beginning of the daily news until somebody wakes up.”
This video has also been edited before airing. The three-minute video begins with the attack on the base at 9 a.m., with Hamas fighters tying the hands of five soldiers who are shocked, scared and injured. The task of these soldiers was to conduct surveillance of activities on the border.
The Israeli government has released edited clips of it to the media in such a way as to portray itself as the victim and to divert the attention of the international community from the atrocities being committed against the Palestinians.
On the other hand, according to the Palestine Information Center, Hamas has said that a video clip about the capture of female soldiers during the battle of Al-Aqsa Storm on October 7 by the Zionist occupying enemy has been broadcast, which is aimed at the isolation of the Zionist state in the world. It is to damage the identity and reputation of the Palestinian resistance while restoring credibility.
Hamas says the video released by the enemy was produced as part of a deliberate plan to discredit the Palestinian resistance. These clips have been intentionally distorted.
