Bushra Iqbal obtains fatwa against Dania Shah’s status as Aamir Liaquat’s widow

Bushra Iqbal, former wife of late television host and religious scholar Aamir Liaquat, has announced the issuance of a fatwa disputing Dania Shah’s claim to widowhood.

According to Bushra, Dania had already divorced Liaquat prior to his death, disqualifying her from the title of widow and from claiming any inheritance rights.

In a public notice shared on social media, Bushra requested that media outlets and the public refrain from referring to Dania as Liaquat’s widow.

She stated that official records do not reflect Dania’s marriage to Liaquat in the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) system, further indicating that Dania is not entitled to his inheritance.

Bushra also mentioned that Dania has since remarried, which strengthens the case against her being called Liaquat’s widow.

The announcement comes after Bushra Iqbal and her daughter filed a case against Dania, alleging she was involved in spreading inappropriate videos of Liaquat and accusing her of causing his death.

Dania was later granted bail in the case by the court.
