According to Indian media Mumbai allrounder Musheer Khan, the younger brother of Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan, has suffered a neck fracture in a road accident near Lucknow on Friday.

Musheer was travelling from his hometown Azamgarh to Lucknow for the Irani Cup, scheduled to begin on October 1.

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) confirmed the injury, stating that Musheer remains stable, conscious, and well-oriented. The hospital reported that he is out of danger.

The MCA indicated that once Musheer is deemed medically fit for travel, he will be flown to Mumbai for further evaluation and treatment. The timeline for his recovery will be determined after these assessments.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and MCA medical teams are closely monitoring his condition to ensure he receives optimal care. Upon returning to Mumbai, he is expected to be taken to a BCCI-approved hospital for a thorough assessment.

Musheer was set to represent Mumbai, the Ranji Trophy champions, in the upcoming Irani Cup fixture.

This injury is a significant setback for Musheer, who had an impressive start to his first-class career, boasting three centuries and a half-century in nine matches.
