‘None of my degrees came handy’: Amitabh Bachchan shares job struggles in latest KBC episode

In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, host Amitabh Bachchan took a trip down memory lane, reflecting on the challenges he faced in securing a job after completing his education. The episode began with rollover contestant Abhishek Sandhu, an Employment Officer with the Haryana Government, who was navigating his way through the quiz.

During the show, Bachchan engaged in a lively conversation with Abhishek, discussing his career and personal life. The discussion turned light-hearted when Abhishek shared his experiences of searching for a job after completing his engineering degree, to which Bachchan humorously responded, “When you knew there were no jobs, why did you study it in the first place?”

Bachchan then candidly reflected on his own struggles after finishing his Bachelor of Science (BSc), saying, He further shared that his struggles were not so different from what he experienced during his younger days. He remarked, “Even I didn’t know what would happen. I did BSc, and after that, I had no idea, and nothing really happened. I went somewhere, but neither the BSc nor the TS proved useful. To this day, I don’t recall a single thing I studied.

The episode saw Abhishek use the ‘Video Call A Friend’ lifeline to correctly answer a question about famous Indian painters, winning Rs 80,000. However, he decided to quit the show after struggling with a Mahabharata-related question about Kampilya’s capital, choosing Option B) Drupada, which turned out to be correct.

 

Abhishek left the show with Rs 80,000, while Amitabh Bachchan’s nostalgic anecdotes added depth and entertainment to the episode.

In another episode Kaun Banega Crorepati, bollywood legend shared a behind-the-scenes story from his iconic 1981 film Yaarana, revealing that he was subjected to real electric shocks while filming the famous song Sara Zamana Husn Ka Deewana.

Amitabh Bachchan explained that the special lighting on his costume, famously known as the electric jacket, was controlled by wires connected to a switchboard.

Due to the limited technology available at the time, the wiring was wrapped around his body, and as soon as the power surged, he began to feel real electric shocks, which, ironically, made him dance.

Amitabh Bachchan also shared a humorous story about his famous light-up jacket from Sara Zamana, describing the primitive technology used at the time.
