Midnight meals, dawn workouts
Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan has revealed a daily routine that would make even the most dedicated night owls raise an eyebrow. In a recent interview with The Guardian, the ‘King of Bollywood’ lifted the curtain on his unusual lifestyle, proving that stardom comes with its own unique timetable.
Khan, who made a triumphant return to the silver screen in 2023 with blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan, disclosed that he typically calls it a day when most of India is just waking up. “I go to sleep at five in the morning,” he said, adding with a touch of humour, “When Mark Wahlberg gets up, I go off to sleep.”
But the surprises don’t end there. The actor, known for his chiseled physique, shared that he maintains his fitness with just a 30-minute daily gym session. “I wake up about nine or 10 if I’m shooting. But then I will come home at 2 am, take a bath and then work out before I go to sleep,” Khan explained.
Perhaps most startling is Khan’s eating habits. The superstar revealed he consumes only one meal a day – a practice he insists is not related to intermittent fasting but simply his preferred routine.
The interview also shed light on Khan’s long-held desire to be an action hero, a dream he finally realized in his mid-50s. “When I came into the industry, I was an athlete. My life’s dream was to have a six-pack, wear a white vest, have a lady with my arm around her, blood on my face and a gun in my hand,” he reminisced.
Khan’s unconventional schedule and recent career choices seem to be paying off. After a four-year hiatus, he returned to deliver some of the biggest hits of his career, earning widespread acclaim from audiences and critics alike.
