ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that it has been decided to increase the levy on petrol and diesel to Rs 70.
Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said in the closing speech on the budget amendments in the National Assembly that the budget decision to levy Rs 80 on petrol and diesel has been withdrawn . There is no duty on solar panels. The government wants to promote green energy. Inflation has come down from 38% to 18%. The current account has also come down.
The Finance Minister said that the country’s economy is improving. Foreign exchange reserves have reached 9 billion dollars. Tax to GDP cannot remain at 9 and a half percent, it will be taken up to 13 percent.
Mohammad Aurangzeb further said that digital reforms, tax evasion and corruption will be eradicated in FBR. The privatization plan is for 2 to 3 years and will be implemented in a phased manner.
