Accused of extorting money from female doctor by pretending to get work visa abroad arrested
Islamabad: FIA Cyber Crime Circle Islamabad has arrested an accused involved in extorting money and blackmailing a woman doctor by pretending to get a work visa abroad.
A case was registered against the accused Babar Shehzad, Badr Shehzad and Usman Rashid Malik alias Osama Bashir under PICA Act, Fraud and Cheating and Aiding and Abetting for blackmailing and harassing a female doctor. Among the accused, Babar Shahzad and Badar Shahzad are brothers and are residents of Attock.
The accused conspired to get the female doctor employed in a hospital in the Maldives on a work visa and transferred 1,900 dollars to Babar Shahzad’s account.
The accused uploaded objectionable pictures on WhatsApp groups and social media to blackmail the female doctor, while the accused continued to harass the female doctor and damaged her reputation in the family as well.
The team headed by Sub-Inspector Humira Aslam of FIA Cyber Crime Circle arrested the accused Babar Shahzad.
According to the spokesperson of FIA, the accused transferred the money from the female doctor to his account on the mother of the main accused and his brother Badr Shehzad.
