Severe traffic jam in Karachi, thousands of citizens are stuck
Karachi: Due to the protest of lawyers on Korangi Road, there was a severe traffic jam, due to which thousands of citizens going to offices got stuck in the traffic and long queues of vehicles were formed.
A scuffle broke out between the lawyers and the officials of the law enforcement agency, after which the lawyers blocked traffic on Korangi Road in the Akhtar Colony area late at night.
Hundreds of trucks and containers coming and going from the industrial area and port got stuck due to the protest. The lawyers called off the protest several hours later after successful negotiations with government agency officials, but traffic was so badly congested that it could not be restored until mid-afternoon.
The number of traffic personnel to restore the flow of vehicles on the road is also negligible. Baloch Colony Bridge, Korangi Road, Expressway and Causeway are under heavy traffic pressure.
