Zul-Hijjah moon sighted in Pakistan, Eid-ul-Adha will be on Monday, June 17

KARACHI:  Maulana Abdul Khabeer, chairman of the Rawit Hilal Committee, has announced the sighting of the moon in the month of Dhul-Hijjah 1445 in the country. According to which, 1st of Zul-Hijjah will be on June 8, while Eid-ul-Adha will be on June 17, Monday.

According to the details, the meeting of the central Sighting Hilal Committee was held in the office of the Meteorological Department in Karachi under the chairmanship of Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer, in which the members participated while SPARCO representative and Chief Met Officer Sardar Sarfaraz were also present in the meeting for assistance.

In Lahore, the meeting of the zonal sighting of the crescent committee was held in Awqaf Building, while the meetings of the zonal committees were also held in other areas including Peshawar, Islamabad.

No moon sightings were received from any city of Punjab due to cloudy weather. However, evidence of moon was received from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan.

After the conclusion of the central meeting, Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer while talking to the media said that the information was completely clear in different parts of the country and testimonies of moon sighting were received from different cities, after which it was decided by consensus that the first moon sighting in the country. Dhul-Hijjah will be on Saturday, June 8, while Eid-ul-Azha will be on June 17.
