Big upset in T20 World Cup; America defeated Pakistan

Dallas:  USA defeated Pakistan in Super Over in ICCT20 World Cup match.

In the 11th match of the tournament played at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas, USA defeated Pakistan and caused a big upset. With the success of two consecutive matches, the American team is at the first place in Group A with 4 points.

In the match, Pakistan batted first and scored 159 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

In the Super Over, America scored 18 runs without any loss, in response to which the Pakistan team could only score 13 runs for the loss of one wicket and America won the match by 5 runs.

Pakistan’s innings:

Earlier, US captain Monk Patel won the toss and decided to bowl first. Pakistan, batting first, gave America a target of 160 runs to win.

For Pakistan, Babar Azam scored 44, Shadab Khan scored 40 runs, Shaheen Afridi scored 23 runs and Haris Rauf remained not out with 3 runs.

Fakhar Zaman 11, Iftikhar Ahmed 18 and Usman Khan scored 3 runs, Azam Khan got out without opening the account.

For USA, Nothosh Kenjige took 3 wickets, Saurabh Netrawalkar took 2 wickets, Ali Khan and Jasdeep Singh took 1 wicket each.

US innings:

The US openers provided a 36-run start in pursuit of the target.

Monak Patel scored 50, Aaron Jones 36, Andres Gaves 35, Nitish Kumar 14 and Steven Taylor 12 from America.

For Pakistan, Mohammad Amir, Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi took one wicket each.

Overlord:

Mohammad Amir bowled a super over on behalf of Pakistan which proved to be costly and USA scored 18 runs and gave Pakistan a target of 19 runs.

Mohammad Amir hit three wide balls in the super over, on which USA got 7 extra runs.

Chasing the target in the Super Over, Fakhar Zaman and Iftikhar Ahmed came to bat for Pakistan but Iftikhar Ahmed failed to play the first ball, he was caught out on the third ball after hitting a boundary on the second ball.

After that, Shadab Khan came to the crease and tried to win the match by hitting a boundary for the team, but he could not score the team’s new cross and Pakistan could only score 13 runs in the Super Over.
