Hezbollah drones dodge Israeli air defense system; 1 soldier killed and 10 wounded
Beirut: Lebanon’s Hezbollah has targeted a military base in Israel, killing one soldier and injuring 10.
According to the international news organization, 2 drones loaded with explosives of Hezbollah at the military base, dodging the air defense system of the Israeli army, operated with great mystery.
The second drone targeted the troops and medical personnel who came to the aid of the injured soldiers from the first drone strike.
In a statement issued by the Israeli army, while confirming the death of an officer, it said that an investigation is underway into why the drones did not sound the sirens when they entered the red zone.
The statement said that the soldier killed in the Hezbollah drone strike was identified as 39-year-old Staff Sergeant Rafeel Coutures, while 10 personnel were also injured.
On the other hand, Hezbollah confirmed the drone attacks and said that this attack was a response to the recent deadly attacks by the Israeli army in southern Lebanon.
Remember that Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, killing 1500 soldiers and taking more than 250 hostages. Israel blamed Iran and Hezbollah for helping Hamas in the attack.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said his army would pursue Hamas fighters involved in the attacks anywhere in the world and take revenge on Hezbollah, which supports them
