Kabul: 20 people died after a boat sank in the river in Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
Afghan media quoted the governor of Nangarhar as saying that 25 people, including women and children, were on board the boat. The bodies of 5 people who died by drowning have been recovered.
The boat sinking incident took place in Momand Dara district of Nangarhar on Saturday morning. The cause of the sinking of the boat is not known. Rescue teams are busy searching for drowned people and bodies
