Attack on Chinese engineers: Interior and foreign officials have reached Kabul, Ishaq Dar

Islamabad:  Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said that the suspects of the attack on the Chinese engineers have been reached, the Interior Secretary and Foreign Office officials have gone to Kabul, and the people involved in the attacks on the Chinese citizens will be taken into confidence by the Afghan authorities.

While talking informally to the media at the Parliament House, he said that the Prime Minister will visit China from June 4 to 8. Good news will come from the Prime Minister’s visit to China. There are issues related to CPEC and security during his visit to China. I have discussed these issues and there will be discussions in this regard during the Prime Minister’s visit to China.

Ishaq Dar said that the suspects of the attack on the Chinese engineers have been reached, the Interior Secretary and Foreign Office officials have gone to Kabul, and the people involved in the attacks on the Chinese citizens will be taken into confidence by the Afghan authorities.

He said that the Saudi Crown Prince will also visit Pakistan, Muhammad bin Salman’s father is in bad health, Muhammad bin Salman has postponed not only Pakistan but also his visit to Japan.

Meanwhile, US Ambassador Donald Arman Bloom visited Parliament House and met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Issues of mutual interest including Pakistan-US relations were discussed in the meeting.

Cooperation in counter-terrorism, Pakistan’s economic reforms, security, efforts to tackle regional and economic challenges were discussed in the meeting. The US ambassador reiterated US support for Pakistan’s economic reforms.

Donald Bloom assured US support to expand business ties and promote a favorable environment for investors. The US ambassador also discussed the areas of cooperation in energy, technology and infrastructure sectors as well as investment
