Saudi ambassador appointed in Syria after 12 years

Tehran:  Saudi Arabia appointed its ambassador to Syria after 12 years.

According to foreign media, Faisal Al-Mujafeel has been appointed Saudi ambassador to Syria after a long gap of 12 years. In 2012, after the civil war in Syria, Saudi Arabia closed its embassy in Damascus and recalled its ambassador.

Saudi Arabia reopened its embassy in Syria at the beginning of this year, while Syria also reopened its embassy in Saudi Arabia in December last year. The restoration of relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia is being seen by the Arab countries as progress for the restoration of relations with the Syrian president
