After former cricketers Ricky Ponting, Andy Flower, Justin Langer, head coach of Rajasthan Royals in IPL and former Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara also refused to coach the Indian team.
According to Indian media reports, after the defeat of Rajasthan Royals in the second play-off match of IPL, former cricketer and head coach Kumar Sangakkara was asked if he is interested in coaching the Indian team.
To which the former cricketer replied that the top officials of the Indian board did not contact me and neither do I have time!

On the other hand, Secretary BCCI Jayshah said that no contact was made with Australian cricketers Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer for coaching the Indian team.
