Sixth phase of Indian elections, polling in New Delhi and 7 states
New Delhi: In the sixth phase of general elections in India, voting is going on in the capital New Delhi and 7 states.
According to Indian media, polling is going on for 58 Lok Sabha seats in the sixth phase. In the capital New Delhi, a tough competition is expected between the current Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Hindu extremist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
In the 2019 elections, the BJP surprisingly won all 19 seats in New Delhi. Voting for 57 seats in the seventh and final phase will be held on June 1 while the results will be announced on June 4.
