Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi was buried in Mashhad, millions of people attended the funeral

Mashhad:  The former president of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter accident, was buried in the premises of Imam Reza’s shrine in Mashhad.

After Ibrahim Raisi’s body arrived in Khaki Mashhad, millions of citizens took to the streets and marched with the funeral procession to say an emotional farewell to the former president, while condolence processions were also taken out in different areas.

According to the report of the Iranian news agency, more than three million citizens participated in the burial of Ibrahim Raisi, including youth, elderly, women and children from different nations.

Ibrahim Raisi was laid to rest with official honors in the premises of Imam Raza’s Mausoleum. Emotional scenes were seen on the occasion. It should be noted that a day ago in Tabriz, Khamenei led a funeral prayer for Ibrahim Raisi and other people who died in the helicopter accident, in which millions of people participated.
