Send a letter to the governor to send the defamation law back to the Punjab Assembly

Lahore:  A letter has been sent to the Governor of Punjab to send the defamation law back to the Punjab Assembly.

Azhar Siddique Advocate, the head of the Judicial Activism Panel, has sent a letter to the Governor of Punjab, in which it has been said that the defamation law is against Article 19 of the Constitution.

It has been said in the post that the implementation of this law has prevented freedom of expression which is against the fundamental right, the law of defamation is a major obstacle to the right of citizens to access information while the implementation of the law has cut off the herd of freedom of expression. .

The approval of the bill is against the fundamental rights of the citizens and there is a fear of gaining political interests through the implementation of the bill, so the governor should send the bill back to the assembly without approval.

A letter has been sent under Article 116 of the Constitution to stop the Governor from signing the bill.
