Hareem Farooq to make big screen comeback with Faysal Quraishi in ‘Mango Jatt’
Pakistani actor Hareem Farooq is making her big screen comeback with Faysal Quraishi-starrer, Mango Jatt. The Parchi star, who was last seen in the 2019 film, Heer Maan Ja, opposite Ali Rehman Khan, is set to return to the cinema with Abu Aleeha directorial.
Mango Jatt also marks the Khaie star’s first-ever Punjabi film. This big-budget extravaganza is poised to redefine Punjabi cinema and will bring together a constellation of seasoned actors from Punjab and Sindh.
In a telephonic conversation, the director Aleeha told The Express Tribune, “The movie is unique in the sense that it is casting experienced theatre actors from both Punjab and Sindh. It will be a stepping stone in uniting the provinces’ fan base.”
Aleeha had previously shared, “At the helm of this stellar ensemble is the inimitable Faysal Quraishi, who steps into the shoes of a Punjabi hero for the first time and will be essaying the titular role in the film.” The renowned TV star’s experience speaks for itself. The actor has given many blockbuster projects and shows.
With the script already locked in, the casting process is in full swing, and the sources have confirmed that the negotiations are underway with the three A-list female stars for the coveted lead role. The female actor star will bring her charm and charisma to the movie through an exciting performance. “We’re also in talks with three big female actors for the role of a protagonist in the film and are yet to finalise a name,” he added.
Aleeha’s movies have been released OTT and gathered much international space and appreciation. He made nine movies so far, including Kataksha, Sheenogai. Tevar, Udham Patakh, Shotcut, and Kukri had set their blazing marks on cinema screens.
Farooq has starred in popular films such as Parchi, Dobara Phir Se, Janaan, Allahyar and The Legend of Markhor. Her last project saw her as a cricketer in 22 Qadam.
