Angelina Jolie contends she shouldn’t have to disclose all her previous NDAs to her ex, Brad Pitt, amidst their ongoing legal battle over their $500 million winery.
In recently filed court documents obtained by Page Six, Jolie’s legal team argues that Pitt’s recent motion requesting access to her NDAs with third parties is “expensive,” “wasteful,” “unreasonable,” and even “abusive.”
Jolie, 48, alleges in court documents that Pitt, 60, requested her to sign a comprehensive NDA during their failed Miraval deal to prevent her from speaking about allegations of his abusive behavior toward her and their family. This alleged abuse, she claims, occurred during a flight from France to California in 2016.
According to Jolie, “while Pitt’s history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well. Jolie then immediately left him.”
Additionally, in new court filings, Jolie argues that disclosing other NDAs she has signed would invade the privacy of the involved parties, potentially including movie studios, brands, and employees.
These NDAs, she claims, could reveal contracts related to her compensation or compensation paid to third parties.
Jolie’s legal team alleges that Pitt wanted her to sign an unfairly “onerous” and “expansive” NDA, which would cover his personal misconduct, regardless of its relation to the Miraval deal. This NDA was allegedly a condition for her to sell her stake to him.
Their deal fell through due to the alleged unfairness of the NDA, according to Jolie, who then sold her shares to a Stoli Group subsidiary. Pitt opposed the Stoli deal, claiming she unfairly sold the stake without his consent.
Earlier this month, Pitt’s legal team filed documents in LA Superior Court demanding that Jolie disclose other NDAs she has with third parties, including her personal staff.
Pitt’s team claims these NDAs will reveal whether Jolie genuinely considered Pitt’s NDA request to be a deal-breaker.
Jolie’s legal team argues that providing such extensive documentation would violate the privacy rights of others.
