PSL 9, Match 6: Karachi Kings beat Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets Web Desk

LAHORE – Karachi Kings on Wednesday defeated Peshawar Zalmi by seven wickets in sixth match of the Pakistan Super League season nine (PSL 9) at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Kings achieved the target of 155 runs in 16.5 overs as their players maintained momentum for racking up scores right from the start.

Shan Masood made 12 while Muhammad Ikhlag scored 24 as they reached the crease to open their innings. After their removal James Vince (38) and Kieron Pollar (49) stitched an unbeaten partnership to clinch victory for Kings.

Earlier, Zalmi had set a target of 155 runs for the opponents, thanks to the Babar Azam for the powerful knock as he made 72 runs.

Rovman Powell made 39 while Asif Ali scored 23 runs while no other players could score above 10 as Kings showed stunning bowling skills, restricting them from building a tough total.

The action-packed Pakistan Super League has two high-voltage matches on the card today, and Peshawar Zalmi will lock horns with Karachi Kings today in the first game at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on Wednesday.

Babar Azam led Zalmi and Karachi Kings started their PSL 2024 campaign on a murky note but are looking forward to for comeback in Wednesday’s encounter.

In their contest against Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi tasted defeat while Karachi suffered a blow against Rizwan-led Multan Sultans.

Despite the unwanted start in previous encounters, both sides are now looking for first victory in the tournament.

Fans are also excited to see talented Saim Ayub and legendary Babar Azam punishing Kings. Karachi Kings are also having the opportunity to get back on the winning track.
