Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia should focus on \u201cdeepening economic and agriculture ties\u201d to turn their longstanding relationship into a stronger trade and investment partnership, the Prime Minister\u2019s Office said.<\/p>\n
Last year, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia signed a landmark\u00a0“Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement”<\/a>, declaring that “any aggression against either country shall be considered an aggression against both”. On August 7,\u00a0Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye\u00a0<\/a>formalised their longstanding strategic relationship through the newly signed “Makkah Joint Defence Agreement”, a trilateral security framework that its proponents describe as a defensive arrangement aimed at strengthening collective deterrence, enhancing military cooperation and promoting regional stability.<\/p>\n PM Shehbaz made the remarks during a meeting with Saudi Minister for Environment, Water and Agriculture Engineer Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley at the Prime Minister\u2019s House in Islamabad.<\/p>\n Welcoming the Saudi minister, the prime minister reaffirmed the \u201cdeep-rooted, fraternal ties\u201d between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and conveyed his \u201cwarmest regards\u201d to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.<\/p>\n
