Acclaimed director Mehreen Jabbar is set to make her much-anticipated return this Eid with the release of her new series\u00a0Farar.<\/p>\n
The six-episode series is essentially a reimagined version of the director\u2019s own telefilm from the 1990s with the same title. Originally produced for Indian network\u00a0Zee5,\u00a0it will also start streaming on the Pakistani platform\u00a0Begin\u00a0on March 21.<\/p>\n
The cast includes Sarwat Gilani, Tooba Siddiqui, Mariam Saleem, Maha Hasan, Saleem Mairaj, Zahid Ahmed, and Hina Khawaja Bayat. The script is written by Rida Bilal, known for Zakham and Jaan E Jahan, while the project is directed by Jabbar.<\/p>\n
The story follows three women whose bond is challenged by hidden truths, ambitions, and the pursuit of transformation. Sabrina, a widowed hairdresser, deals with tangled relationships; Tanya, a rising actress, grapples with issues on body image; and Huma, a committed track athlete, confronts societal expectations to marry while navigating the turmoil of life in Karachi.<\/p>\n
The show\u2019s trailer was released on Instagram, offering a glimpse of this tight-knit group as they juggle work, friendships, and mischief.<\/p>\n
The tagline reads, \u201clife is a mess, but at least the circle is solid\u201d.<\/p>\n
