Pakistani leaders condemn Indian missile attacks

Pakistan’s political leaders, belonging to both the governing and opposition parties, have come together in condemnation of India’s attack on Pakistan.

India carried out airstrikes on six different locations inside Pakistani territory leading to the martyrdom of 26 people including two three-year-old girls and seven women.

In addition, 46 individuals were injured, including nine women and 28 men.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari condemned India’s missile strikes against Pakistan, calling them a “cowardly attack” on civilian targets.

Bilawal, in a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), condemned the strikes on Muridke, Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Muzaffarabad and called it an act of war.

He further stated that India’s attacks on innocent civilians, including women and children, amounted to “savagery” and violated basic principles of warfare. He declared that these attacks would be met with full force.

“The targeting of innocent women and children is not strength, it is savagery,” Bilawal added, vowing that Pakistan’s armed forces, supported by a united nation, would respond decisively to the aggression. “We will not tolerate violations of our sovereignty. Pakistan is united, defiant, and ready,” he concluded.

CM Maryam Nawaz

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the Indian missile strike on Pakistani soil, calling it a “cowardly” act that poses a serious threat to regional peace and stability.

In a statement released late on Tuesday night, the CM described the missile attack as an “act of aggression” and praised Pakistan’s armed forces for their forceful response, which she said forced India to retreat.

“India’s detestable act has exposed its true face before the world,” CM Punjab said. “Pakistan seeks peace, but we will never compromise on our sovereignty.”

Omar Ayub

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Omar Ayub remarked that India and its fascist leader Narendra Modi only understand the language of force.

“Proud of Pakistan Air Force to have shot down Indian aircraft. Let this be a lesson for India. Trespass at your own risk. You will be shot down,” the PTI leader said.

In a separate statement, he further emphasized that PTI, being the largest and most popular political party, stands in solidarity with the people of Pakistan and those defending the nation.

Sherry Rehman

Senator Sherry Rehman condemned India’s missile attack on Pakistan, calling it an outright act of aggression. She stated, “Modi has started it, but Pakistan will end it.”

Sherry Rehman described the attacks on Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Bahawalpur as unforgivable crimes.

She further emphasized that India’s missile strike exposed its malicious intent, and Pakistan will no longer stay silent. “India took our offer of peace as weakness,” Sherry Rehman remarked, adding that now India will be answered in its language.

She went on to say, “Modi’s government has put regional peace at risk. Pakistan’s response will crush the arrogance of the enemy.” According to her, the blood of innocent Pakistanis shed in the missile attacks will not go unaccounted for.

Maryam Aurangzeb

Punjab’s Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb also spoke out, expressing the nation’s salute to its brave armed forces, who swiftly and decisively responded to the Indian aggression.

Maryam Aurangzeb noted that India’s cowardly attacks on innocent civilians, mosques, and vital water projects like the Neelum-Jhelum Dam had been met with an extraordinary and powerful response from Pakistan’s military.

She stated, “Our forces demonstrated unparalleled strength and bravery by shooting down five of the enemy’s aircraft. Pakistan’s borders are a red line, and any attempt to cross them will be met with a full-scale response.”

She further declared that while Pakistan seeks peace, it is not weak, and every attack will be met with a double blow. “Our armed forces are like a wall of steel that will crush every attack from the enemy,” she said, adding that the entire nation stands united with its military. “Pakistan Zindabad!”

Sheikh Rashid

Former Interior Minister and leader of the Awami Muslim Leage (AML) Sheikh Rashid also commented on the situation, stating in a video message that India launched an attack on unarmed Pakistanis at night, to which Pakistan’s Air Force swiftly shot down five Indian jets, giving the enemy a firm response.

He said, “The enemy thought it could intimidate us, but the Pakistani nation has neither bowed down nor will it ever. If Pakistan decides, the enemy will not remain safe. You have destroyed our mosque, and our patience has now run out.”

Sheikh Rashid further added, “Pakistan is a living nation, and Islam honours martyrdom. Martyrdom is our pride. When the time comes, every debt will be repaid, and the enemy will be punished in such a way that they will never dare to look towards Pakistan again.”
