Germany beats Denmark 2-0 to secure Euro 2024 quarterfinal spot

The UEFA EURO 2024 Round of 16 match between Germany and Denmark resumed after a suspension due to heavy rain at Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund.

The game paused for 24 minutes saw the players head to the dressing rooms in the 35th minute. Once the weather cleared, referee Michael Oliver brought the teams back onto the pitch to continue the match​.

Germany managed to secure a 2-0 victory over Denmark. Kai Havertz converted a penalty in the second half. Jamal Musiala then sealed the win with a curling strike.

Yesterday, Switzerland advanced to the quarterfinals after defeating Italy 2-0 at Berlin’s Olympiastadion.

Remo Freuler scored the first goal with a stunning left-footed shot in the 37th minute, assisted by Ruben Vargas.

Vargas himself doubled Switzerland’s lead with a curling effort early in the second half​.

Switzerland will now face the winner of the England vs. Slovakia match, which is set to take place on July 6​.
