PPP members strongly protest against government and K-Electric against long load shedding in Karachi
ISLAMABAD: Members of the National Assembly of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) have strongly protested against K-Electric and the federal government on load shedding and said that if they cannot prove load shedding in Karachi for 16 to 20 hours, they will resign from membership, otherwise the minister will resign. Resign.
The meeting of the National Assembly was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, where the newly elected members Syed Ali Qasim Gilani and Zainab Baloch took oath at the beginning, on the occasion of load shedding and over-billing by K-Electric in Karachi. Notices against attention were presented in the National Assembly.
The attention notice was presented by Asad Alam Niazi, in response to which Minister of State for Finance Ali Pervez Malik replied that there is very little loadshedding at 1500 out of more than 2000 feeders.
He said that the issue of load shedding and over billing has been challenged in Nepra, load shedding is happening for 8 to 10 hours in some areas of Karachi, more load shedding is happening in the areas where there is electricity theft and line losses.
He said that now we are making preparations for transformer wise load shedding, it should not be that those who pay bills should be punished for those who do not pay bills.
Member PPP Asad Alam Niazi said that where in the world does it happen that those who pay bills are punished for those who do not pay bills, load shedding is happening for 16, 16 hours, on which the Minister of State for Finance said that 6 to 8 I believe the hourly loadshedding is not more than that, on which Asad Alam Niazi said that electricity has been increased by three rupees per unit.
He said that I have brought the bill of a man whose salary is 30 thousand and the bill is 17 thousand while the tax is 6 thousand.
PPP Member of National Assembly Nabil Gabol said that Karachi has been turned into Karbala, people cannot even fill with water, why are our questions answered with lies, if there is 10 hours of load shedding then I will resign and if If it is too much, the Minister of State should resign.
PPP member Mirza Akhtiar Baig challenged the Minister of State on the issue of K-Electric in Karachi and said that K-Electric in Karachi is doing 16, 16 hour load shedding and he is ready to prove it.
PPP member Agha Rafiullah said that the Minister of State Babu is telling the information written by the people, if the information written by the Babu is to be given, then read Anna Lilla Wana Ilya Rajioon, why is the bill payers being punished for load shedding.
He said that I know one such feeder where one factory has been paying the bill for 50 years but the others are also being punished, they are working on a pilot project of transformer wise load shedding, I presented a bill which It has been approved by both houses but it has disappeared, what will happen if our bills disappear?
PPP member Shazia Murri claimed 20, 20 hours load shedding in Sindh and said that in Sindh there is no electricity in the meter but the bills come in lakhs, if there is no electricity in Sindh, then the minister does not come to the house, load shedding has destroyed the people. Done now.
