T20 World Cup; Namibia defeated Oman by 11 runs in the Superover

Bridgetown:  In the third match of the Men’s T20 World Cup, Namibia defeated Oman by 11 runs in an over.

The third match of the Men’s T20 World Cup played between Namibia and Oman at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown ended in a tie after an interesting contest, but the match was decided in a super over. Could make 10 in the over.

Earlier, Namibia won the toss and decided to field against Oman, but Oman, while batting first, gave Namibia a target of 110 runs, while in pursuit of the target, Namibia managed to score 109 runs in the allotted overs and the match was tied.

Chasing the target, Namibian opener Michael Van Langen was dismissed without scoring, followed by Nicolas Dion with 24, John Frylink with 45 and dismissed, captain Gerhard Erasmus with 13, batsman JJ Smit with 8 while Zane Green is out for 0. David Wiese 9 and Milan Kruger 1 run remained at the wicket for the team to win.

On behalf of Oman, pacer Bilal Khan took 1 wicket, captain Aqib Ilyas 1, Mehran Khan 3 and Ian Khan 1 wicket.

In the first innings, the entire Oman team managed to score 109 runs in 19.4 overs and were dismissed. At the beginning of the innings, in the first over of the match, Oman’s batting line suffered and lost 2 wickets, opener Keship Prajapati and Aqib Ilyas without. Batsman Naseem Khushi 6, Zeeshan Maqsood 20, Ayan Khan 15, Muhammad Nadeem 6, Mehran Khan 7, Shakeel Ahmed 11 and Kaleemullah could only score 2 runs while Bilal Khan scored 1 run.

On behalf of Namibia, pacer Ruben Trumpelman dismissed 4 players, David Wiese guided 3 batsmen to the pavilion, Bernard Scholtz took 1 while captain Gerhard Erasmus took 2 wickets.

Captain Aqib Ilyas, Keship Prajapati, Naseem Khushi, Zeeshan Maqsood, Khalid Kail, Ian Khan, Mohammad Nadeem, Mehran Khan, Shakeel Ahmed, Kaleemullah and Bilal Khan are part of the Oman team.
